Contraindication
Severe allergy (anaphylaxis) to egg protein or neomycin
· Component: Egg protein, gentamicin, neomycin
Egg-based (embryonated egg) influenza vaccines are contraindicated.
Reactions after vaccination and what to do
Muscle aches, mild tiredness, redness and swelling at the injection site Common
Onset: Within 6–24 hours after vaccination · Lasts: 1–2 days
Home care: Rest, move the vaccinated arm gently to ease soreness, and apply a cool compress to the injection site.
Go to a health facility immediately if: Difficulty breathing, noisy breathing, hives all over the body, low blood pressure or fainting (signs of anaphylaxis).
