Yellow fever
A single dose of Stamaril gives lifelong protection that is valid under the International Health Regulations (IHR).
Transmission
Aedes and Haemagogus mosquitoes transmit the virus in tropical forest areas.
Symptoms
Sudden high fever, chills, severe headache, muscle pain, a slow pulse despite high fever (Faget sign), followed by yellow skin and eyes and vomiting blood.
Complications
Fulminant liver failure, anuric kidney failure, massive internal bleeding, circulatory shock; 20–50% fatal.

People travelling or working in endemic countries in Africa and South America.
