Birth dose within the first 24 hours (EPI)
For: Infants (0–1 year)

Given within 24 hours of birth. If this is missed, give it as soon as possible within 28 days of birth (Circular 52/2025/TT-BYT). The later the dose, the less effective it is at preventing transmission from the mother. Later hepatitis B doses are included in the combination vaccine at 2, 3 and 4 months.

Unvaccinated people: 3 doses (0, 1, 6 months)
For: Adults (18–59 years)

For people who are unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated. HBsAg and antibody testing before vaccination is advisable. From 10 years, the dose is 1 ml.

Special precautions
Under 10 years 0.5 ml, from 10 years 1 ml. Newborns are vaccinated within the first 24 hours; if this is missed, vaccinate as soon as possible within 28 days of birth (Circular 52/2025/TT-BYT).
